Forest Escapade, a sensory adventure for the whole family in the heart of the forest

At the edge of the Bon-Secours state forest, Forest Escapade invites visitors of all ages into a world where nature is discovered in a different way. Here, the forest is not only observed: it is felt, played with, and explored with curiosity and wonder. Designed as a playful and immersive space, the site offers a complete experience combining indoor and outdoor activities, imagination and discovery, learning and shared enjoyment.

Explor’Forest: dive into an immersive indoor woodland

The visit often begins with Explor’Forest, a surprising indoor space that recreates a sensory forest environment. The lighting evokes twilight, soft sounds surround visitors, and the atmosphere instantly transports them into a different world. Children explore, touch and observe, while adults rediscover the forest with a fresh perspective.

Every year, Forest Escapade renews the experience with a new playful and immersive concept imagined with a different artist. This artistic approach keeps the experience fresh and turns every visit into a unique discovery. Learning happens naturally, guided by play and imagination.

La Pic’orée and the Barefoot Trail: experience nature differently

Once outside, it is time for sensations. La Pic’orée and its Barefoot Trail invite visitors to slow down, remove their shoes and feel the ground beneath their feet. Wood, leaves and natural textures create a rich sensory journey. Laughter erupts as unexpected sensations surprise both children and adults, strengthening the connection with nature.

The atmosphere changes with the seasons: shifting colours, woodland scents and the gentle rustle of leaves. The forest becomes a living playground, always different and always welcoming.

The Treetop Walk: discovering the forest at canopy level

A highlight of the visit is the Treetop Walk. This elevated walkway offers an experience at canopy height, reaching up to 16 metres above the ground. From above, the forest reveals itself from a completely new perspective. Visitors walk slowly, observe the treetops and breathe deeply.

The wind moving through the branches, filtered sunlight and distant forest sounds create an atmosphere that is both peaceful and impressive. It is often mentioned as one of the most memorable moments of the visit.

Games, challenges and encounters with the forest

To extend the adventure, Forest Escapade offers activities to share, such as the Salix game bag, filled with challenges to solve in the forest, or orienteering games that turn the walk into a collective mission. Visitors cooperate, reflect and learn together while discovering the forest ecosystem.

Children also love searching for Marcus, the site’s mascot, a striking black woodpecker. With a bit of luck, visitors may even hear – or spot – this iconic bird in the Bon-Secours forest, adding a touch of magic to the experience.

A place that makes you want to come back

Many visitors leave with the same thought: We didn’t know this place but we’ll definitely come back! The warm welcome, the variety of experiences and the exceptional natural setting create an immediate connection. Forest Escapade successfully shares wonder, curiosity and a genuine love of the forest, in a spirit of discovery and shared enjoyment.
