House of the Megaliths, a journey to the origins of time

The House of the Megaliths is much more than a museum: it is a gateway to an exceptional heritage dating back more than 5,000 years, located in the village of Wéris, one of the Most Beautiful Villages of Wallonia. The setting is bucolic, peaceful and almost removed from the modern world, preparing visitors to travel back to the origins of human settlement, when the first Neolithic farmers and breeders left monumental traces of their presence.

The visit naturally continues outdoors. The House of the Megaliths is the starting point for signposted walking routes leading to the dolmens and menhirs scattered across the surrounding countryside. The site is also lively and welcoming, offering activities for children, educational programmes and group visits. Everything is designed to make the discovery a shared and intergenerational experience where learning happens together.

After the visit or a walk through the countryside, the cafeteria and its sunny terrace invite visitors to take a relaxing break. It is the perfect moment to taste the Dolménius, a local amber craft beer that can only be found here — a playful nod to the identity of the site.
