An ideal experience for families and curious minds who enjoy learning through play, reconnecting with nature and sharing a powerful human adventure between wonder, serenity and discovery.
At the Préhistomuseum, visitors do not simply observe the past: they experience it. Here, your family becomes a Sapiens tribe, invited to travel back through time in the heart of a protected forest, at the foot of a real archaeological site. Shoes come off, the wind rustles through the leaves, the scent of the earth fills the air and the adventure begins—simple, authentic and profoundly human.
This unique place offers a Prehistory that is living, optimistic and shared, where learning happens through doing, feeling and reconnecting with what truly matters.
Shooting a bow or using a spear-thrower, trying to light a fire, entering a cave, finding your way through the labyrinth of evolution Each activity invites visitors to perform ancestral gestures, guided by archaeologists who share their knowledge with passion. Visitors do not simply read about history: they live it.
Children marvel when the spark catches, while adults rediscover a simple pride in hitting the target. Everyone shares this suspended moment where success comes from patience, attention and cooperation.
The Préhistomuseum is a museum in the forest. The sounds are those of nature: rustling leaves, birdsong, the gentle silence of the cave. The scents of wood, fire, bark and grass accompany the visit. The colours shift between deep greens, browns and ochres, evoking a world that existed before concrete and urgency.
Walking barefoot along the paths means accepting to slow down. To feel. To become open to discovery. Many visitors leave surprised by the richness of the experience: We didn’t expect there would be so many things to do; we’ll have to come back!
More than a museum, the Préhistomuseum is a place for sharing. Children return every year for camps, as if visiting a familiar place. Visitors from afar make it a regular meeting point. Here you meet enthusiasts, curious explorers and families laughing together, all leaving with the feeling that they have experienced something real.
The experience is playful and meaningful at the same time: it connects Prehistory with today, questions our relationship with nature and awakens skills that remain useful for the future.
