Clinging to its rocky spur, overlooking the town of Dinant, the Citadel has been a museum of arms and history for over a century. Step back in time during a pleasant day out with family or friends in an exceptional setting.

Carried along in the glass cabin of the cable car, you will gradually gain height to discover Dinant and the Meuse valley. You'll be enchanted by the unique view, more than 100 meters above the town.

Within the walls of the fortress, you'll discover some of the highlights of Belgium's and Europe's past in a fun and immersive way. The recently renovated Espace 1914 , will take you back to the Great War and the major battles that took place in Dinant.
The highlight of your visit is the collapsed dugout, where you can follow in the footsteps of a ‘poilu’ whose trench has been hit by a shell... an astonishing experience!
Children can then let off steam on the playground, while older visitors can relax on our terrace.

In addition to the tour, the site offers a number of dining options: a pleasant restaurant at attractive prices (special conditions for groups) in the Grand-Place at the foot of the cable car, a cafeteria-friterie at the summit, not forgetting the beautiful terrace ‘between cannons and casemates’ for a break in the heart of the Citadel.

Would you like to continue exploring Dinant and the Meuse Valley? We suggest you continue your day from the water, with our 3-in-1 package that includes a visit to the Citadel, a return cable car ride to the center of Dinant and a cruise on the Meuse to Anseremme.

Other options are possible, and we offer packages for groups of 20 or more.
