EVENT: « The Bark age » Wild Stone-Age fibres. From 10/05/2012 to 30/09/2012.
The Stone Age is not really a good name for the era. Wood, bark and vegetables in general were used such a lot by our ancestors that the Stone Age could well have been called the "Bark Age ». Not much trace remains of the ingenious Prehistoric vegetable craftsman. Only a few really good archaeological examples of vegetable fibre have been found. They form the starting point of our exhibition. Thanks to reconstructions you will see baskets, garments, coats and other Prehistoric accessories. It's a unique chance to meet craftsmen with incredibe technical skills, working with care and precision.
Prehistory also organises courses from Easter to Summer for children from 4 years of age. Brochure on line : www.ramioul.org
