Wellington Museum

In the centre of Waterloo this former post house was used as the headquarters of the Duke of Wellington, commander of the Allied Forces on 17th and 18th June 1815.

With the aid of engravings, weapons, documents and illuminated maps, this museum recounts the political context of Europe in 1815 and reveals how the battles unfolded.
A multimedia room explains how the name of Waterloo spread across the world.
