Prince Karel Memorial
(V: 60 min. / partially accessible for wheelchair users)
Includes the Prince’s house as well as an exposition on the Prince’s life (1903 – 1983), who was Count of Flanders and Regent of Belgium (1944–1950) and on the history of the domain that goes back to the time of King Leopold II (1900), including the presence of German coastal fortifications during both the First and the Second World War; and finally an introduction to your visit of the Atlantic Wall.
Atlantic Wall Open-air Museum
(V: 90 - 120 min. / not accessible for wheelchair users)
Brings you to the German coastal defenses dating from the two World Wars: the ‘Aachen’ battery dating from the first and the ‘Saltzwedel neu’ battery dating from the second.
Archaeological Museum Walraversijde
(V: 90 min. / fully accessible for wheelchair users)
You start with an audio-visual representation of the history of the domain before visiting four reconstructed and fully furnished fishermen’s houses from late medieval Walraversijde. In the interactive museum you learn about the archaeological research of the site of the old settlement and how it led to the reconstruction.
The Raversijde Domain includes a museum shop and the "Walrave" restaurant-cafeteria (tel.: 059/30.62.44 - fax : 059/30.62.43). Visitors are free to visit the park (± 40 ha), where they can enjoy the peace and quiet.
