Baugnez 44 Historical Centre
On the 17 December 1944, the Kampfgruppe Peiper massacred 84 American prisoners. The Baugnez 44 Museum has been set up on this historic site as a perpetual memorial to this infamous massacre at Malmedy.
The centre about the history of the Battle of the Ardennes opened in 2007 and is already considered to be one of the best museums covering this Battle. The various big operations are explained, 16 scenes are reconstructed there and 120 showcases are presented. Several unique pieces relating to the massacre are on display. An unpubished 25 minute film is shown. Two 'son et lumière' displays plunge you into the winter of 1944.
