Founded by St. Norbert in 1121, Floreffe Abbey is one of the most important architectural features of the Namur region and is situated on a promontory which dominates the Sambre valley. It covers 7 centuries of architectural styles : Roman, Gothic Baroque, Classic and Modern go well together here. During the visit you can see the Abbey church and its famous stalls, a video projection and the medieval outhouses which have been converted into a Museum.
You can taste beers, bread and cheese in the old Brewery, a unique example in the province of Namur of architecture from the Middle Ages . Hot meals are available for groups on reservation. At the end of the visit there is a craft shop.
