Fortified Castle of Logne

Discover the Logne Mediaeval area

• The hideout of the « Sanglier des Ardennes »

At the summit of a narrow rocky outcrop, dominating the Ourthe valley, come and discover the mysteries of Logne fortified castle : how it was adapted to the early days of artillery, the tragic end of the last of the Lords of the Manor - the “Sangliers des Ardennes” (wildboar); the underground passages; the Gatte d'Or and his magnificent treasure ! Guided and un-guided visits.

• The treasure hunt

A family game for visitors from 6 to 66 (and over) on the castle site. Every day that the site is open 5 clues lead you to the treasure of the Gatte d'Or.

• Every day life in the Middle Ages

In a remarkable 16th century farm the Museum shows the life and the wars of the castle's inhabitants. There is a collection of objects excavated from the site, which is unique in Belgium; wooden pots and pans from the Middle Ages, weapons, shoes. Don't miss the film about the excavation of the 56 metres deep well (15 mins.)

• The Logne Eagles

Completely renewed and from now on accessible to everyone (a new construction at the foot of the castle), the Logne falconry show presents even more magnificent birds of prey : owls, buzzards, falcons, vultures, eagles …. More than 30 birds are permanently on the site.

Shows at 14.00 and 16.00 every day in July and August + every weekend and public holiday from April to 30 september.
