One of the most beautiful collections of religious gold- and silversmith’s art in Belgium (from the 12th to the 19th century). The Treasury presents objects which belonged to Saint Waudru (7th century) : a ring and a dress clasp known as the “Benoîte Affique” (The Blessed Clasp), together with a collection of shrouds which were used to wrap the relics of the Saint’s body. The collection of historical statues, paintings and manuscripts is presented in the marvellous setting of the Collegiate Church of Saint Waudru, built between the 15th and the 17th century in a Brabant- Gothic architectural style, which contains remarkable statues in alabaster sculptured by Jacques DU BROEUCQ (16th century).
