Louvain-la-Neuve Museum
The Musem in the University opened in 1979, eight years after the foundation of Louvain-la-Neuve. Over the decades numerous gifts have enriched the original university collections and this has resulted in a considerable Art and Civilisation heritage which is shown in displays which change regularly. This heritage is centered on the main trends of European and Belgian Art : from an Albert Durer or Rembrandt print to a canvas by Alechinsky or Delvaux, including Gothic and Baroque sculptures. But these collections also allow detours into other Continents with a rich collection of "Arts Premiers" (Africa, Oceanic) and an opening into "Popular" or "Naive" Art. By means of the exhibitions and the changing presentations the visitor will find a Museum which is changing all the time.
